Self-paced course
A self-paced introduction to the CLARITY toolbox — and to the deeper pedagogical principles, sequencing strategies and trauma-informed practices that bring its activities to life.
Many young people learn alarming climate facts before they develop the emotional skills or imagination needed to cope with them. The CLARITY project responds to this gap by placing emotional competence, imagination, values and collective agency at the heart of climate education. The toolbox offers practical, ready-to-use activities — and this self-paced online course shows you how to use them in ways that truly build competence over time.
The course ensures that educators have the opportunity to build their own transformative skills and competencies before teaching their learners. The materials contribute to the continuous professional development of educators, by building capacities for innovative and competence-based teaching.
Grounded in the CLARITY competence framework for transformative climate resilience education, the course walks you through the key ideas behind the toolbox. You will learn not only how to use the toolbox, but why these approaches strengthen young people’s wellbeing and inspire them to engage in climate resilience and regeneration.
Through short videos and selected sections from the teacher’s guide and the toolbox, you will explore themes such as climate emotions and climate trauma, connection with oneself, others and nature, value-based learning, futures thinking, and collective action.
The course is entirely self-paced and free of charge.
When you complete the final assessment, you will receive a certificate of completion issued by the CLARITY partner organisations.
The course is available in several languages, choose here:

Teacher Training workshop series
The CLARITY Teacher Training is a series of 7 online 2-hour workshops over 14 weeks, which gives you an opportunity to dive deeper into the learning material of the self-paced course, learn directly from experts in the field, engage in interactive exercises, connect with a community of peers and ask questions in a dedicated online forum. It will be offered in the Fall of 2026 by CLARITY partner One Resilient Earth, to a small cohort of teachers and informal educators from around the world.
If you are interested in the Teacher Training, please fill out the expression of interest.
The CLARITY project aims to enhance teachers’ and informal educators’ competences so that they can support their students in dealing with climate anxiety, nurture the inner resilience of learners, and support the taking of collective and transformative climate resilience building action.
Feedback on the Teacher Training
“The CLARITY Teacher Training Course fundamentally shifted how I think about climate education: in particular, the role of language, emotional safety, and connection. It helped me think of ways to slow down, teach our students to listen differently, and has inspired me to support educators to teach in a way that builds resilience rather than fear. It has encouraged me to make links with what teachers already understand (e.g. trauma-informed teaching) and to show them that teaching for climate resilience is not something extra – it links with a lot of the tools that we are already using in classrooms, but in a focused context.”

“Participating in the CLARITY training grounded my understanding that climate and education transformation are deeply interconnected — each depends on and reinforces the other. When education is transformed toward regenerative, justice-oriented practice, I am also enacting climate action by equipping learners (teachers and students) and communities to respond creatively, collectively, and compassionately over time”
